Jury will determine custody matter for Deion Sanders

Famed former athlete Deion Sanders is in the midst of a complicated trial surrounding his divorce from Pilar Sanders. According to reports, the two are fighting over child custody matters and a jury has been asked to help solve the issues at hand.

Pilar and Deion got married in 1999 and were together until 2011 when Deion filed for divorce. That was when the chaos began. Since then, police have been called and protective orders have been filed. Allegations have arisen but charges have been dropped and, recently, Deion testified that a protective order that he supposedly filed did not have his signature on it. The situation only gets messier with accusations flying from both sides of the case.

Testimony from Deion indicated that he has spent a lot of time with his children. According to reports, he helps them with their homework, takes them to sports practice and sits in on their music lessons from time to time. The couple share three children, all of whom are likely torn up by the battle that is raging over their future. Once the jury is allowed to deliberate, they will be asked to determine which parent gets to decide the primary residence of the kids. They will also be asked to determine if the children should be restricted from any locations.

Deion's first wife was allowed to testify during the case - he has two other children with her. According to her statement, he has been a good father to the kids while Pilar has been awful to them. The first wife said that Pilar was so bad to them that they could not go to their father's house unless he was home.

If Pilar and Deion did not bring attorneys into this case, it is possible that the best situation for the children would be ignored. Lawyers on both sides are working with the court to determine which parent is most fit to take care of the kids.
